Last visit to the Tablelands (Nov 14-18, 2013)
On our last (5th) visit to the Tablelands, we stayed again (3rd time) at the Canopy Treehouses, and just did the circuits inside the property and hangout at the balcony of the house. From there we got to see the most common birds and small mammals, but also tree kangoroos (twice).
the first sighting of a tree kangoroo
pandemelon
a very small bat in the tree
king parrot
juvenile king parrot
and then next day they got much closer to our house
Ozzie and Mate
Justin and I liked so much the gallas that used to hang out around our place in Townsville that we decided that one day, when we have our own house, we will get two and we will call them "Ozzie" and "Mate". After that we just have to record Ashley Frish saying " Good day Mate", "Let me get my sunnies" and other typical north Queensland lingo and repeat the recordings over and over to the gallas to get them speaking their native language.
